A Stay In Waikiki
Kailua Kona US, 03. January 2023 December, 2022日後に3日間滞在This was our first time staying in a VRBO. Island Colony Studio on the 29th floor was awesome. It was a great location, near the strip, near the Zoo, Leonard's Bakery, and freeway access off Kapahulu Ave were very close. For us, this was a staycation, and my wife and I felt it was just perfect. Beautiful view of the Ala Wai and mountains, peekaboo view of the ocean, and nice large patio easily twice as large as most hotel balconies. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. AC worked great. There is a fitness center, pool, and jacuzzi on the 6th floor. The only thing I didn't like was the $35 parking per night and the steep fees VRBO charges. Even after all of that, it was still cheaper than the cheapest hotel. Our travel dates were peak season between Chritmas and New Years. Just for 3 nights, we saved over $500 versus the cheapest hotel for the total trip.

Excellent Location for One or a Couple

Wonderful lanai balcony with a view, especially for breakfast. Great location with many local eateries and bars. Bed is comfortable and all amenities were in working order.

Great location and everything we needed

We arrived around 11pm and check in did take some time since there was only one person working the check in counter. Check in service was still good. We were given all the info we needed and went up to our suite. This studio is small but very clean and had everything we needed. Not to mention amazing views of Ala Wai Canal, city views and a partial ocean view. We did encounter some issues with wifi not working and a broken coffee maker both of which were resolved within 24 hours after calling the management number. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed from utensils, wine glasses, stove and fridge. We loved the large balcony to take in views and enjoy wine at sunset. The bed was a king and was very comfortable. TV was big and had a nice seating area as well. The building had laundry facilities, pool, hot tub area, a large BBQ area with lots of tables and grills to use and a small but decent gym. There was also a little convenience store on site. A bonus was having the Forty Niner restaurant in the lobby which had fantastic breakfasts! The building is also very close to Paia fish market, Marugame Udon (which was ALWAYS lined up), Duke's Market, International Market Place and many more restaurants and shops. And of course was only a short walk to Waikiki beach. It would've been nice if the studio included a couple beach chairs to use.
Note that you only get 2 pool towels to use. You are also supplied with limited toiletries to get you started but if you run out, you need to buy more. parking is $35 a day for guests but we lucked up most days and found parking for free along Ala Wai canal.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Island Colony and would recommend it to others!Response from Alii Beach Rentals

Bed was comfortable, and the lanai was welcoming, private, and comfortable! The elevators were FAST! (Minimal wait times for the elevator)
The location was perfect!!! Literally around the corner from the International Market. Plenty of bars, clubs, and restaurants!

Clean and Private

The building is well maintained, we were able to enjoy the pool, jacuzzi and the sauna. I love having access to a washer and dryer. Everything is walking distance, restaurants, mini marts, mall, shops. We are definitely coming back and most likely at this same building.

Nice apartment with a fascinating view!

The only thing that I'd like to notice is to tell future guests (or just mentionit in the app) how to switch the tap in the bathroom to shower! It took me some time to figure it out because it's not common and not as easy to guess!Response from Alii Beach Rentals
